Anticoagulants and Antiplatelets

  • 18 Steps

About

This course provides pharmacy students with a complete, practice-focused understanding of anticoagulants and antiplatelets used in the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease. Through clear lecture notes, interactive case-based quizzes, and real-world scenarios, you will learn how to safely and confidently support patients on medicines such as warfarin, DOACs, heparins, and antiplatelet therapy. You will develop the clinical judgement needed to recognise clotting risks, assess bleeding concerns, interpret INR results, select appropriate therapy, and provide evidence-based counselling in line with current UK guidance (BNF, NICE). The course blends high-yield exam content with realistic hospital and community pharmacy cases, preparing you for OSCEs, placements, prereg/ foundation training, and day-1 clinical practice.
