About
This course equips pharmacy students with the knowledge, confidence, and clinical reasoning skills required to manage common conditions safely and effectively in UK community pharmacy practice. Built directly around core self-care and OSCE competencies, this programme integrates high-yield reference notes with realistic case-based quizzes to help you confidently apply theory to practice. Using structured frameworks such as WWHAM, red-flag identification, OTC product counselling, and referral decision-making, you will work through real-world scenarios covering respiratory, gastrointestinal, ENT, dermatology, and allergy presentations. You will learn how to assess symptoms, differentiate conditions, recommend safe OTC treatments, deliver inhaler and device counselling, and recognise when urgent referral is required. This course combines concise lecture notes, clinical OSCE checklists, and progressive case-based questions to prepare you for assessments and real-patient consultations in community placements and foundation training.
